Density, decoded

Three swatches of dark hair side by side, thin to full

Density is one of the more misunderstood numbers on a wig listing. It isn't a rating. It describes how much hair is attached to the cap relative to an average head — and the right figure depends entirely on how you intend to wear it.

180%

Close to natural. Moves easily, sits flat, and reads as your own hair in daylight. If you want something you can wear to work without thinking about it, this is the range.

200–220%

Noticeably fuller with more body through the mid-lengths, while still behaving like hair. A middle ground that photographs well without looking staged.

250%

Deliberately dramatic. Heavy volume, strong silhouette, and the density you want for occasions rather than commutes. It's more hair to manage, and it will feel like it.

Choosing

Pick for how you'll actually wear it most of the time, not the version of yourself in the product photo. Density is published on every listing so you can compare like for like.
